Hi,
Im new on the forum so go easy!! Just picked up a 1978 150 Super and need a bit of advice:
1. Wheels - Its got 10" wheels but haynes manual says it should ride on 8" - which should i stick with to get the best handling? 2. Handling and Brakes - OMG its stock from what I can tell and its definetly an interesting ride. How can I get the brakes and suspension to a safer/sportier level? 3. Parts - I have been on a few parts websites and some have different names for the Vespa 150 Super - what is the model name/nummber other than a 150 Super? 4. Updating the ignition and engine - any reccomended upgrades?? 5. Any upgrades that are worth avoiding?
Cheers
Mark

Stick with the 10in wheels, suspension upgrades, all depends on how much you want to spend , I really like the bgm shocks, brakes try a new set of brake shoes, and maybe measure the drums to see if they are worn, or you could consider a front disk conversion. Engine and ignition, also depends how much you want to spend , if its 6 volt a 12 volt stator and flywheel are a good idea with better lights and spark. Engine upgrades will depend on if its 2 port or 3 port, but I think 1970s Engine will be 3 port, so maybe a dr180 kit, cheap and reliable

I have a 1977 125TS, I put an BGM PRO F16 Sport on the front and a YSS Pro-X on the rear. Both are adjustable and they work for me...
For the brakes: new shoes, springs, cams and maybe cables and the other bits of hardware. If the cams are worn they won't activate the brake shoes very well.

I have just fitted a set of bgm sport tyres and they are working very well, feel very confident around bends and roundabouts, even in the wet

Do you think the BGM sport are better than the Michelin S1?? the bgm tires are definitely better than the s1, I ran the s1 on my old px and wasn't as confident as I am on the bgm sports , but others might not agree
