through in the post before. I took the A2 test but the license entitlement says A on both bits, which according to the wee booklet means I can ride any bike of any size. Won't be complaining about that!

Double check on that Devo - I think mine's the same, but it still means you're restricted for 2 years - it just doesn't say that on the actual licence. (don't want you to get into trouble!!)

It's very unlikely that I will be riding something more powerful before the 2 years are up anyway .... just thought it was quite odd.

Maybe it's so that we don't have to send off the licence to get it amended again in 2 years time - they can probably check on the compooter if we're A2 or A1 if they ever stop us 'on the road'. Just a guess.
