Hello everyone. I have finally rebuilt the PX (yr 2000, disc model with battery and electric start) and I simply have no lights. Zip, nada, nothing.
The scoot has a new loom fitted. The horn works, it starts off the battery no problem. The blue stator wire is outputting good voltage (seen up to 40v on meter) and I’ve replaced the regulator and starter relays as part of the rebuild; the regulator is a 5 pin variant.
Can anyone point me to an idiots guide to testing a 2-pin connector (blue/black wires) stator and 5 pin regulator set up please. I’ve googled and looked at some great threads in here but I’m simply stumped. I guess what I need is a “on pin 1 you should see X voltage AC or DC at tickover” etc.
I’ve tested continuity pretty much everywhere and all is good. My assumption is that since all was working before I stripped it down, and the stator is pushing out good voltage, that is OK, as is a new regulator.
Any help/advice very much appreciated before I dowse the thing in petrol and see lights of a different variety.
TIA. Steve

Sorry I can't help as electric is way out of my comfort zone, let us know how you get on, and I'm sure someone on here will come up with the answers you need

Hello I have some suggestions - might work, try the old regulator first , second re do all the earth points might be a bad earth as I had a problem with a earth contact on my TX , thought all the earths were good but 1 of the indicators would work then not work it turned out to be a bad earth , last suggestion try a known good headlight switch, hope you get it sorted.

Hi, I had the same issue last year, a local scootering legend in Wrexham tested every wire and connection on my PX and located the problem in my headlamp switch, he replaced the switch and all is well, maybe yours could be the same?🤔
