Hi I've just bought a 1974 Scooter as a project to work on frame is in good condition but I've just taken the engine out and taken it to a reputable dealer to rebuild only to be told it is not serviceable what is the best option are recon engines available

Firstly, welcome to the forum 👋, so the engine is past it, so do you want to keep it original? 150 super engines do come up for sale every now and then, or you could get a px or t5 engine second hand for reasonable money, would be better than the original, 2 port engine. I was lucky and bought a new px150 motor for £300, but as I said, I was lucky

OK that's not a million miles away, if you are on Facebook search for rpm scooters bracknell, he always has engines and reasonably priced. I'm in Aldershot and could possibly meet you halfway if it would help. His name is Phil and is an old school scooterist 👍👍👍
