As you say VNX5M is T5 engine (regardless of where it was imported from), so seems you don't have a T5 motor. Only other VNX prefix used is for the PX125 motor but that's VNX2M, you sure it is a 1 not a 2? Btw, T5 is easy to spot as it has central plug hole, and if you take the cowling off, the barrell is alloy and has rubber buffers between the fins, plus the black kickstart and flywheel cover of course..

That's if the rubber buffers are still there of course - Lu's were in her toolbox when we bought her T5!

Dunno then, according to all the info sources I have, T5 is VNX5M.. Take it you had a look at the barrel? that is the only sure way to identify a T5 as only the T5 has the alloy barrel with central plug..

Hello Bryno,it does have central plug, but i was looking at my book 60 yrs of vespa¬ice that,PX 150 has VNX1M,so it looks like the last owner in italy has for some stupid reason, changed the 5 to 1,so i will change it back, when i have finished the restoration, also do you know what the correct colour silver is for the rims&forks,as i would like the correct colour, cheers, neil.

I checked on Scooterhelp.com, PX150 is VLX1M according to that, I'd suggest whip the engine cover off, see if the barrel is alloy and that the exhaust bolts on with 2 nuts rather than with a clamp, that will tell you 100% if it's a T5. There may be other Vespa motors as well as the T5 which have the central plug, but I know the rest of the P range motors have a clamp bracket rather than the 2 nuts on the exhaust and no other has an alloy barrell.. I used an aluminium silver for the rims and lots of lacquer which is very close to the original colour as it is nearer grey than silver, the alluminium was the lightest silver I could find in a spray can. Forks are actually light grey with a hint of blue rather than silver, I mixed up something myself when I did mine, if you look here there is a pic of my forks in the original colour.. vespa.proboards31.com/index.cgi?board=stuff&action=display&thread=1180264786
