Hi, so I picked up my 1982 PX125E a couple of weeks ago now. The chap I bought it from had it a number of years but never used it. I asked him what ratio mix it needed and he didn't know. It's a 125 with 180 top end. As it hasn't been used I drained the old juice and put fresh in. I mixed 2%, I've had a couple of runs out and all seems ok but I've read in a number of places that you should run more oil if it's tuned? How do I know if 2% is ok or if I need more?

If it's a kit like dr or olimpia 2% is fine, kits that are more tuned like malossi polini bgm etc 3%. I run my tuned bgm187 on 3% as that's what they recommend

I believe it's an olypia kit but can't be 100% as it's had a few owners since it was put together so it could be anything now. It seems to run fine on the 2% mix but I've only done about 25 miles and I don't really know what I should be looking / listening for.

Can you tell us what exhaust you have and any information on the carb/jets would help. Or you could just add 3% and if the plug starts to oil up go back to 2% , which is probably OK for your scooter if it is an 180 olimpia kit.
