Tool kit

Hi, I'm new to scootering, have just picked up a 1982 PX125e with 180 kit.

I'm not planning any big trips but aware that the tool box is empty at the moment so wouldn't be able to make any adjustments, change a wheel etc.

What tools do you carry on the scooter?

I carry a socket set, set of spanners, screwdrivers, sparkplug, cables and a one hand cable tool. If I'm going a long distance I also pack a flywheel puller and clutch nut tool 👍 and my trustee AA card 😁

Used to always carry a stand so I didn’t have to lay the b*st**d thing over to change the rear wheel… Plug spanner, socket to drop the engine, spanner set, spare tyre valve (run tubeless now), stolen reversible screwdriver from a scrapyard (those were the days…), oil, jug, and at least one spare plug. Have rescued many a scooterist with a plug and box spanner… 🤓For me the stand that fits under the gear selector was a game changer.

How posh are you ironsloth! A stand! I'm still picking grass and mud out of my handle bar ends! I weighed my tool kit and locks before I thinned it out it weighed over 15 kilos. An absolute joke! This is what I have for round town.
Long reach sockets and spanners 7mm .8mm .11mm . 13mm . 17 mm.
Scrdrivers. Spare plug and wrench.
For longer journeys i take oil .spare inner cables with loads of nipples. Fly wheel holder and puller. Clutch tool. Liquid gasket. I'm quite strict now. 😕

I joined the AA for one year in the 90s. Didn't use it all year so I cancelled. I still can't sleep at night thinking about that 20 quid.
