Hi, Ive just gone and got my Px200 Disc (2001) MOT after it being SORN, cant wait to get back riding. passed MOT but when I left the test centre I noticed the speedo not working. Messed around at the bottom end of cable - removed it (pain in the ar$e!) cleaned it up pushed back in and tightened plate, still not working. decided to check top end of cable.... this is where the trouble starts. removed 1 wing mirror fine, turned second mirror and the bolt sheared off - nice one! Anyway, I undid the 4 screws underneath the headset cover and tried lifting it off but I couldnt work out how to remove the electrical cable part that is on the underside of the speedo, the thin plastic bit with a block of wires connected to it. anyway, it came off in the end. The white plastic bit on the end of the speedo cable is broken in half so ive ordered a new inner and outer cable and hope that is going to fix the speedo issue. problem now is, i dont know how to put it back the headset because the electrical block hasnt got enough play on the cable for me to plug it back in to the connecter on the speedo, and because its not rigid it just moves if i try to fix the headset on to it! I hope I am being dumb and there is an easy solution to this.... I'm 53 and the last time i messed about with scooters I was about 20. Can anyone help?? Attachments:

Yes it can be a tight fit and very awkward, you might be able to pull a little bit of the loom up to give you a little more, but be very gentle. I have had to use some pin nose plyers and popped the headset top down and pushed the wiring back on through the small gap then pushed the top fully down and then check before fitting the screws. Hope that makes sense, good luck, let us know how you get on. If you think this job is hard, try fitting a digital speedo, there are so so many wires to fit into such a small space 😳

Might be worth taking the horn cowling off , disconnect the speedo wire there push it up ,to give you more room to refit the wire , then reconnect it ,headset end first then horn cowling end last see if that helps

I think that it's got you come towards you wiggle it free Yes it's very tight don't be down on yourself it's a poor design. PATIENCE. Say it with me bro PATIENCE. Just take your time and losen everything you can (remember to re tighten) id probably remove the horn cover too. A good torch you best glasses and a hook fashioned from a wire coat hanger and some very long hose pliers/artery forceps is what I would use. Look how to shove things up from behind horn cast. and wiggle wiggle until satisfaction. Good luck
