What a nice day for chuckin a gps system on your scoot to find out gow much of a liar your speedo is. Surprisingly enough my 42 year old (genuine) lammy speedo seems to be more accurate than my vespa one.

Head down on the way back to Catterick from Newcastle my speedo was off the clock, looking down at my Garmin 12XL with military software accurate to 1m on the earths surface, imagine my surprise to see that I was only doing 57mph! Vespa speedos are downright liars, but then my car speedo shows 75 when GPS shows 70!

On the M25 going to Camber a few years ago my speedo was showing over 70. I was in the middle lane quite easily overtaking HGVs in the first lane, so bearing in mind they're limited to 56mph, I must've been doing low to mid 60s.
But that was 6 hours into the journey so the engine was super warm.

my Lambretta accelerates from 20 mph to 60 mph in two seconds. It says this on the speedo, so it must be true

Rev counter has to be the way to go for precise speeds, just so happens that scitsu battery free rev counters are very expensive.
