After rebuilding sprint engine (new bearings seals crank)When I pull the clutch in the kick start goes to the floor and I have pressure and the scoot starts when I don't .But when I go into first gear and pull the clutch in it seems the clutch doesn't engage and I have to stall the bike to stop.Could this be the cush drive? Any advise would be very much appreciate.Of course I don't want to take the engine out unless it's really necessary .Thanks to anyone who replies.

Hello to everyone. Regarding clutch first check clutch is adjusted properly to slack and it wont pull lever arm right in.i dont think cush drive has anything to do with your trouble have you worked on clutch basket could be it's not put back together properly or worn parts or sticking plates in basket .let us know how you get on cheers alan.

I have checked the clutch and I'm pretty sure its assembled correctly I only mention the cush drive as I read on another board someone replied with a similar issue.
"I had a scoot (150 super) doing that and spent months on the clutch changing all sorts back and forth it ended up being the springs in the xmas tree that were broken. There is a plate on the back of the xmas tree that must have the rivets ground off to remove (easy to do at home))...then get the kit that comes with new springs/plate/rivets. this is the next step to investigate if you have done clutch stuff to death"

Sounds like your clutch assembly may be off a bit. Try not to mix old and new in your basket. Did you use the brass ring the right way.? Plates in the right order?
