Got my A2 license today on a rented PX125 with engine mods to make it capable of 70mph (according to the Dyno report) ... though I only managed early 60s on a lesson and didn't have to do over 40 on the actual test. The bloke (who worryingly looked like David Ellery) didn't really question it. There doesn't seem to be any consistency between test centres/examiners. When I took and failed the first test I wasn't all that nervous .... and the same when I passed my car test .... but this time round I was bricking it, was a right ordeal .... think it was because I was worrying about how you can be good enough to pass but blow it in a second with one daft thing. Finally ripped those chuffin' L-plates off with plenty of glee .... I've been sitting on the mud flap and vinyl sticker to go where they were for ages. See pics, well pleased with the results. A fiver for the sticker including the design from ScootGraphics, ok it's simple enough but still .... So bloody relieved!

Well done you. Lucky you don't live here, you'd have to stick bleeding 'R' plates over the top for a year. What's an A2 licence? as opposed to A1or A?

Congratulations mate, well done. It's nice to get it out of the way isn't it?
By the way, that plastic(?) drainpipe doesn't look sturdy enough to chain your scoot to to me. One good manc..sorry yank and it would be gone.

Ta folks.
Ha, good Manc pun. Aye, I know ... the drainpipe is just a temporary solution (not that it solves ought!) .... there is seriously nothing else available to chain it to. All I can think of is putting a bolt in the ground but I need to figure out how I go about it. On the plus side, that wall is at the back of my flat and is well out of the way .... and I keep it covered up all the time so it's pretty low key. Still, not ideal and I need to get it sorted.
The A2 thing has been done to death on these forums Skrappey ... have a go on the search thingy and there's loads of info. But basically it means that I don't have to bugger around doing another test if I decide I want somet more powerful in the future.
R plates, don't like the sound of those!

Devo,
where did you rent the modded px from? i'm looking to take the test soon(ish) but don't want to really take it on a bike. Did you take your test in Sale?

Nah, would have took the test in Sale if I done it on my own bike ... but it doesn't qualify for the A2. I took the test in Harrogate with a bit of training from Tommy Bee who is based in Rawdon, Leeds. He has a T5 (wasn't working when I took the test first time round but is sorted now) and a LML that qualify as well. Is advertised as the only place in the North to provide the service ... and I think that's accurate as I couldn't find anywhere else. www.tommybee-bikertraining.co.uk/

Well done passing your test mate. I swallowed my pride and did mine on a motorbike. failed 1st time on the U-turn...bugger. But aced it next time. Good feeling riding back from test centre. Completely forgot to all the good stuff I was taught and just ragged it all the way back...get in!

Think it's quite a common reason for failing on the U-Turn with motorbikes ... cos of the extra weight. My mate failed his first time for the same thing. On a scooter though it's a piece of pish.
Ditto on the ragging it on the way back :-)
