Crank taper

Can anyone please confirm if the taper on the 2011 on crank is compatible with the pre 2011 stator.

I'm wanting to convert to full wave electrics and I don't think this is possible with the newer style stator.

All the cranks are the same. You on about putting in the older style electrics? Never herd of " full flow " . Please explain so a thicko like me knows whatcha mean. But I do know if what to make a change you have to change the lot. Stator must match flywheel must match cdi. However I bet you can't use new stator as it is a peice of sh*te. Barely does what it's meant to already. Enlighten me Angie.

Full wave conversion involves modifying the charging coils on the original style stator.
There's quite a lot of info on t'internet but basically it involves turning one of the coil earth wires into a live and attaching an additional wire to this and running it to a replacement rectifier.
This effectively gives you more current to charge a battery properly, you then run your lights including indicators directly from the battery causing everything to be more stable and removes the flickering when idling.
This also means a cleaner current if you're wanting to go LED
Scooterbooter, yes it does mean cdi change as well but you're right the old ignition is loads better anyway and gets rid of the crappy rev limiting

Nice one I've learnt something there. Never seen any 2t vespa that holds a charge. I use a zeus cdi there really good but kind of wish I had changed the lot for the old style system. Let me know how you get on cus that would be sweet.
