Thank for all the advice on other subjects in the last 3 years.
My Odometer stopped working just as it was going over to 20,000. My Speedometer is now not working either, 3 months later. Is this going to be the Worm Wheel part on the end of the Speedo cable and is it an easy fix?

I should also point out that the community on this Forum are the most helpful and respectful that I’ve encountered. In my experience, when you put a tech question on any of the Facebook pages, all you get is a slagging off and bully boy abuse from men in their 50’s that should know better.

If the odometer stopped working before the mph needle I would say its the speedo unit. It's not a hard job to check the worm drive , just a bit fiddly. Look where the speedo cable goes into the bottom of the forks, you will see a small bolt head, think its 8 or 9mm it's a pain getting a spanner or socket on it, some undo the bottom of the shock, when the bolts undone you can then pull the worm drive out and check it for wear. Also when you have speedo cable free, and know it's not broken, you can put the end into a drill and very slow speed, see if the needle moves, if not new speedo will be needed. Hope all that makes sense. Let us know how you get on

Hello cjhooker , if you have a friend who is off large build ideally, get them to pull on the front brake and compress the front shock , access to the small speedo plate holding bolt is now a lot easier.

When checking if the speedo works, make sure the drill is on reverse.
