This is a good thread Neil.
My first scooter was a green PX125, EO02KPX. I sold it to a lad from Leeds as his first scooter. I thought I might have seen it at a northern rally somewhere, but not yet. I hope he hasn't crashed it.

My first scooter is definitely no longer around, at least not to be seen. It is underneath Shoreham bypass in Sussex. It was a LD 150 with no running boards or panels of any sort, the throttle was by way of a piece of string tied to the carb and it only had a back tyre. The building was cut into the chalk cliffs and when wet was an icerink. We played there as kids and I found this bike in the bushes one day and I claimed it. A gallon of petrol later it was flying all over the place with me on it. that's how I learned to ride a motor bike and have stayed with hand gears ever since. Eventually it was dropped too many times to ever work again. 1964/5 and I was 10, that was the days when a gang of 10 yr olds could play all day without interference form adults on a building site. Happy days. The last one before college was a GT 200 in 1979 at Brighton rally on the Marine Drive, painted. by hand, with a mural of 'Trojan Horses' on both panels. Lost the photos in the mist of time, anyone got any of that rally? Next 'firsty' was in 2001.an Italian import for £500 , the (ex) missus went mad when I unloaded it off the truck via a HIAB, I hadn't told her. LI S3 125/175. MCH 832D, sold in 2003 just before I moved to IOM to a mate for £750.

My first scooter was a blue PK50 at 16. As anyone who ever had the pleasure will know, they were unbelievably slow. I remember the embarrassment of holding up a whole queue of cars on a dual carriageway to 20mph, wind against, which was down to one lane. I couldn't wait to turn 17 and ditch it for a PX125. Confession time: Morecambe rally, 1983. All my mates had 125's or better, I was still waiting for that 17th birthday. They wouldn't wait for me. (With friends like these....etc) Oh God, I can't bring myself to say it.....OK here goes.....I took it on the train.
Actually, it feels good to let it out. I think Americans and Jeremy Kyle call it closure. To this day friends (or comedians as I prefer to call them) who have no interest in scooters remind me whenever I mention my scooter...
Them: What are you doing at the weekend? Me: I'm going to (random rain sodden destination) on a scooter run. Them: Are you taking it on the train? (cue hysterical laughter, nudging and pint spluttering)
In my defence, well there isn't any really, but I suppose you could say I was young and naive.
July 1983, 17th birthday finally arrives and so does a PX125. Oh the liberation. It felt wonderful, and I could stay in bed for an extra 15 minutes every morning. I don't remember what happened to that PK and frankly, I don't really care. We did have good times together, but I only had eyes for my new love.

My first scoot was a maroon Vespa P150X Reg. ALV 431X and I bought it from The Bee on Renshaw Street in Liverpool back in September 1981 at the tender age of 17 – boy do I feel old.
Had it about 2 years before a taxi driver decided it would look better embedded just behind his front door, so he decided to do a U-turn in front of me.
Sold it to another member the Avengers A565 by the name of Nick Higgons who turned it to a chopper by the name of Death Trap.
Replaced this with a Blue Vespa P200E Reg. XKD 117W from the old Len Turners in Rockferry, which I drove throughout the 80’s before selling it to Mike (aka Mr Smallframe) – if fact I think he still owes me money, so Mike if your listen you better bring your wallet to the club tonight ;D

It took nearly 20 years to see you actually riding it – just think the first time I saw it you had it chained to a lawnmower so that nobody nicked it – and by it I mean the lawnmower ;D
