I'm changing the crank and understand freezing it is the best way to do this.Could this be done with a plumbers shock freeze spray or is it best via the freezer.

Freezer over night . Cover it in wd40 first. That's what I do .it must get very cold to shrink. Use a puller.

thanks,£50 for the tool I might try henri's advise "freeze the crank n warm the bearings an it will slip on loads easier , no need for a crank tool",2014.Where is henri??

Yeah that works. Got to heat it right up. But once I got it stuck in no man's land with a warmed crank and cool bearings. a real bummer. So now I use a puller mine was £20.but its each to there own. However your happy doing it is probably the right way.
