Do I need a battery

Ok bought myself a Vespa sprint 1965 to renovate
first scooter to renovate
renovated lots of motorbikes
does the Sprint need a battery or not
i know it’s a stupid question,but the wiring diagram is unclear

You don't need to have a battery, will work full ac but you can have a battery if you want to and run dc if you Google it there is loads of information and wiring diagrams

What happens re ignition switch wiring diagram doesn’t show it

From what I remember, green wire is the kill wire and you need an earth. That should do it. But I am sure someone else will be able to give a better answer
