Further to my last post regarding carb problems, I stopped using the autolube on my 02 px 125 , this was down to having problems with running and after two soft seizes I was not trusting it. I filled the tank with the right premix and emptied the oil tank. Now the bike is running fine and I sorted the problem of engine racing/hunting. Should I go back to the autolube? The problem was caused by the air mixture screw not being set right and crap gasket on carb seat .

I wouldn't bother, haven't used autolube for more years than I can remember, there is something old school about premix, and you know that the oil is in the petrol. Would recommend getting a blanking plug for the engine cases, available on ebay

I've been pondering ditching the auto lube on my T5. Whilst, I have my fuel tank out of the scoot, if I take the oil tank off, will I need to do anything else? Can I still use the existing carb?

Yes you can still use the same carb, you will need to blank off the oil feed, easy to do by putting a screw into the end of the pipe. I also removed the drive that goes into the engine and got a blanking plug from ve uk. You will also need a grommet if you remove the oil tank 👍

I found replacing the throttle cable rod in the carb to a traditional one so I could remove the oil pump completely was a good move as well when I went from autolube to pre-mix.
