Hello to everyone on this forum I've always owned and restored Lambrettas, but I'm delighted to say that I've just got a 1962 GS160 mk1 to restore. It's in great condition and I want to get it as 'back to original' as possible. It will go great alongside my 1962 TV175 series 3. I've managed to pick up a lot of NOS parts already [mph speedo, lights, locks, and some nice other bits] But I am now searching for the holy grail ..... ULMA 207 legshield trims !!!I know that they are like rocking horse sh*t - but I thought I'd ask anyway. If anyone out there knows where I can get a decent set, please can you let me know ? Many thanks and happy scooting - stay safe

Welcome to the forum 👋👋👋 I had a gs back in the 80s and turned it into a rat look cutdown 🙈

Thanks for the welcome Adrian. Think we all had a go at cutdowns in the 80's And all regret it now !!

I have to say that I wouldn't cut a gs down now, but I still have a cutdown and love them, also have full frame 😁 good luck with your search for legshield trim, does anyone make reproductions

Thanks Adrian - will keep looking. Yes there are loads of very good chrome and stainless steel repros. Cuppini do the best - and at good price too. But I'm trying to get the scoot back to as original as possible. And these ULMA's are the dogs - if you can find them

That's good that you can get a reputation one if all else fails, or use until you find an original

I managed to find a set of ULMA 207 legshield trims for the resto. They've just arrived from Italy and are a bit rougher than I'd hoped. A few dinks, dents and scrapes to sort out before sending to the metal polishers in Hull. Anybody know anyone that can restore stainless steel trims to high standard ?? Many thanks

Finally found a really brilliant company that has sorted the legshield trims back to an excellent condition. heritagemotorworks.co.uk/Drew is a top bloke and master craftsman. So I would highly recommend them if you need any metalwork / polishing for your scoot. Will post some pics when I get to dry fit stage.
