While browsing the internet looking at scooter pictures for inspiration, I came across some images of some tuned scooters with exhaust wrap around the pipe from cylinder to box. So my question is why? and does it make any difference to performance

Rumour control suggests they use it on sprint racers because it keeps heat in the cylinder , and as our greatest enemy is heat I'd advise against albeit I am by not by any stretch of the imagination an expert so seek good advice

Good that someone has replied to my question, I don't think I will be using exhaust wrap, because my exhaust is stainless, but I do think it would have looked good. Thanks for your reply

Could always go for a ceramic coating? Used on racing headers and has been for some time, can be done in any colour too.

I have thought about ceramic coating, but haven't done any research into it, maybe something to look at in the new year

There is one firm I used a couple of years ago called Zircotec, f**king sh*t. But I have seen other firms ceramic coating, it does look good.
