I have a 1969 Sprint 150cc. I have an ongoing problem that nobody seems to be able to rectify. After about 40 minutes riding the scooter cuts out completely. Starts fine afterwards but will often do the same shortly afterwards. I have been told there is nothing wrong, one place suggested increasing oil dosage. Losing confidence and patience. Personally I think it is a weight issue...I am 120kg. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hello forgot to say take a spare sparkplug with you when it cuts out pull lead of plug put spare plug in cap hold near engine kick it over with ignition on to see if there is a spark if you have points could be these or condenser breaking down.if it sparks could rule out ignition.cheers alan.

I had a similar problem on my 1977 125 t.s it would cut out ramdomly after getting hot. After replacing most of the other electrical parts (HT lead, CDI, stator etc..) in the end I replaced the wiring loom, and on removing the the exiting wiring I found it was in a right state with lots of possible candidates for earthing. It was a pain to do but I have not had the problem since although I have not been doing the same sort of miles.
How does your wiring look?

Hello cdi is the box where the ht lead goes into.its on frame next to engine some are blue in colour and four wires going into it. a few people have had trouble with the wires as they can rust up or crack with age . Also check wireing on horn as this can cause trouble let us know how you get on cheers alan.

doesn't a '69 sprint have points and a coil rather than a CDI?
