Hello, New on here and would like some help or advice please as to possible causes to why my px died and wont restart.I was travelling at maybe 50 mph and about 15 miles into a 21 mile journey and then it just cut. So far I have checked the plug and tried a new one both giving a spark, Swapped Cdi units, Cleaned the carb and blew it out with compressed air I have fuel going in, When I kick it over it feels like it has the same compression as always. Would appreciate some suggestions on what else it could be.

Had a similar thing happen once before. Checked spark, fuel, compression was good etc, I’d snapped my driveshaft... 🤤

Flywheel woodruff key snapped so timing out? massive air leak from crank seal? exhaust blocked? I assume when kicking over it can wet the plug to verify fuel getting through?

Had a day off today with no success in getting my px to start. After pulling the flywheel I replaced the woodruff key as it was tapered on the top edge the flywheel magnets are good reassembled and tried to start no joy also had quite a bang on trying to start with a bit of smoke coming out of the carb slider.I have not used used the electric start for years because the battery is flat and before I broke down it would kickstart 1st or 2nd kick every time.I then took the cylinder and head off and found both piston rings to be gummed up and sucked into the grooves and was unable to free them up until I broke the top ring trying to free it. Would any of the more experienced members on this forum recommend honing my existing barrel to a new piston as their is scoring on both piston and barrel also what looks like pitting marks on the top of the piston or just buying new. Also I would like to know if this would be the main reason it wont start or could their be a catalogue of problems as to why it wont start.
