Well in 1966 they where. Bought a few original newspapers today covering the '66 world cup, read through one and found the following classifieds ads.

THE BEE SCOOTER SHOP LIVERPOOL talk about spooky, my mate only today told me he just bought a vespa, still in its shipping crate. The address on the crate is the Bee Scooter Shop Liverpool.

yeah the bee liverpool i think it was there from the 60s to the 80s i may be wrong but one of are club members has a lammy and it still has the bee badge on the back were the sprint rack goes ,

Being the cheapskate that I am I was naturally drawn to the running '61 Vespa for £12ono. I like to think I'd have beaten the vendor down to £8
