Hi all, Just getting back into scooters after 23 years. I have a 1976 150 Super with a T5 engine which I have just done up.
I currently have a steering lock issue. I had to drill the last one out and replace with a new one. The problem I have is that when you have the forks in the lock position and turn the key anticlockwise to the 9 o'clock the lock locates but the key won't return to the 12 o'clock position. when I let go the lock pops out and the headset is free again. I guess it must not be seating right into the second notch. Has anyone had this issue before or know how to resolve this issue?
Many thanks
James

Sounds like the lock isn't actually going 'fully home'.

I had a similar problem after drilling out a lock from a frame I bought without any keys, I needed to shorten the small pin that rotates when you turn the key as it was slightly too tall, once shortened it worked fine although the spring doesn`t really return the lock to the out position, I need to pull the lock out while rotating the key to get the steering lock off, also I think I used a fairly cheap steering lock which maybe did not help.
