Hi. I have this 150 2T. Bought a polini 177 kit. Marketed out the larger port opening using the base gasket. Before I start grinding away, are the cases thick enough for this? Or do I need to get some new ALU added on to the back before I start?

Personally I would get some more aluminium welded to the cases, just in case, easier to do this first when its thicker metal . Just my opinion, others may say different. But as I have just had a motor built, even after welding we still came across an air pocket

Hi David,
I've just posted on the forum for the first time, as I'm wanting recommendations for repair epoxys for aluminium! I'm just about to port/flow a set of LML/PX 125 cases for a Polini 177kit. From what I've found, to achieve a really good transfer port shape it's almost certain you'll bust out the side of the case. And having had a look at my casings and the shape required, what I've seen makes me believe I'll definately do the same. Your cases may have more meat in them than the cases I've bought though. But as Adrian said welding before would be that way to go. My welder wouldn't add material to my cases for me as he was worried about the quality of the aluminum used in the casting.
Cheers.
