Finally got myself a Lambretta to keep my Vespa company. It's a 1965 TV175, remarkably original, paint is ratty, one side panel pretty beaten up but it only seems to have been touched in here and there, never been restored. 19'000km on the clock which works, though the speedo needle seems to have fallen off, has a front disk brake, but it's not really working much at the moment It's a bit of a dilema how to restore it, I don't want to totally spoil the patina so I'm thinking of just a repaint (in cellulose) and try and retain all the trim, don't want it to look too 'over restored'. Rode it home 60 miles yesterday, no problems, bugger to get started though, still on 6v electrics and I've not got the technique yet! ;D

Bryn it looks fantastic, unless the photos are making it look better than it is? Just sort the brake, the starting and away you go in my humble opinion, as you said you definately don't want to over do it. Great addition to the collection, well found.

Cheers Gaz, the camera is kind It's ratty, but usable, I'm not going to rush to do the paint, will ride it through this summer, sort all the mechanics and think about the body this winter..

That's a lovely looking scoot. If that's all original then it's in very nice nick indeed. My favourite scooter is the TV175

Bloody good looking for a 65. Hard to believe it's not been restored before, been kept in a garage all it's life? Get it to 12v, so much more reliable than 6v and sort out the brakes, nice find.

It is a lot worse in the flesh! was an Italian import in '05 clock still works showing 19,000km. Paint has been touched up all over the place but it's never had a full paint job, frame and under the panels have never been apart, lights, most of the trim, wiring, etc is all original.. there are a couple of parts I can tell have been changed since '65, but it's had nothing done recently..
Everything works on it, starts and runs fine, needs some fine tuning here and there.. bella!
P.S I'm gonna look into a 12v conversion, but tbh it starts fine, I don't ride at night and I'd rather not change things if I can avoid it..
