Sprint 68 front suspension upgrade?

Hi all,
After a few years in the garage, I started riding my sprint 68 again. The front suspension is mmm, how to put it, BAD. Lots of dive, with hardly no damping. The spring and damping element look original, and I assume they need replacement. Any of you guys upgraded their suspension and can share what they did, what they bought and if it did make a significant change in rideability ?

I fitted one of these bgm shocks and a stiffer spring, better than the original, but the way the suspension is designed just does not work very well. There is a thread somewhere, not sure if it is on here, that goes into the physics of why it is so bad.

I fitted one of these to my Vespa GL and it was a massive improvement

the quality is great and they look good too, not cheap mind, but worth it for decent damping
