My 2002 px125 suddenly lost drive power the other day whilst riding it. I thought it was a broken throttle cable but a local garage took a look for me and said a pin or rod at the back of the carb had popped out which caused the problem. He fixed it with a cable tie and it was fine to get me home. I’ve looked on line as well as the carb itself and can’t see the cable tie so not sure what part I need to get to make a permanent repair. Can’t take it to a garage at the moment due to covid so looking to fix myself but I’m not very technical! Anyone know what I’m referring to and how to fix it? Cheers.

I have had a few cable tie get home fixes, and some last for months, so just use it and carry a spare cable tie 😁

The only thing I can think of is the a type of rod in carb which throttle attaches to .if you take top of carb you will see where cable comes in and conects to rod which operates the throttle you might need a piece of wire to rejoin together.if not a new cable.have a look it's easy to take carb top off.cheers alan.

Agree with Scooterg.
Same thing happened to me thought my throttle cable had snapped.
Whipped of carb cover and the small rod coming out the carb had popped out of linkage. I. managed to bend the little hook bit and put back into the linkage and all was good.
