Hi mate, there was a recent thread on the topic, take a look at that, personally I'd always want to view before I part with my hard earned, you never know whats lurking under the super shiney paint

wasn't there something in one of the scootering issues, sometime back, warning about the pitfalls of such purchases and offers? will have a scour through the pile.

Like many I've been tempted myself, but with importing a Lambretta from India. after a bit of research I really would not entertain the idea now, the saving just isn't worth the risk IMO. They do look good on your PC screen, but who knows whats under the paint, and at the end of the day, what do you get? a bitza Vespa with parts from god knows what and where, with no history & no provenance, and it will always be worth less than a 'genuine' UK or Euro import..
If you're OK with that fair enough, I'd suggest go see a few eastern imports at UK dealers and see if the quality is up to your standards, I did this when looking for a Lammy and concluded that I'd never be happy with the quality of the restoration without doing it all again myself..

Hi Kudaku, did you end up doing anything about importing from Indonesia? I'm going to be out there for about three months and was thinking of doing the same.
