Greetings all.
Just brought a 2004 PX 200 with only 500km on the clock.
Is there anything I should be looking at? The previous owner did nothing to it, I didnt even have a service after being run in. Ive heard stories about new ones blowing up after 1500 miles etc... I dont wanna be one of them...
Should I grease the cables? I was thinking of just chnging the oil and riding it as is.
Any help would be great!

Hello and welcome to the forum.
If there's only 500km on the clock, it's not run in yet. You need to be doing about two thirds of the top speed, so roughly 40mph, until it is. When your clock gets to about 800km, book it in for service by a Piaggio specialist, tell them it's a first service after running in. By the time your appointment comes up you should be at the right mileage. Only after your first running-in service should you open the scooter up to full speed. It's people thrashing an engine before it's been run in that causes the damage.
Apart from that, unless the previous owner stored it underwater, on a 2004 PX with 500km on the clock you shouldn't need to check anything more than the tyres, the fuel and the 2-stroke. Anything else will get looked at when it gets its first service.

Cheers Spence, Previous owner told me stories of going flat out two up... \that's why I want to halt any harm / damage that's ben done now, Im gonna ride it like a granny for the new few 100 k's... What do they do at the first service? Maybe there are some things I could do now?

Just ensure the gearbox oil is changed after the first thou has been clocked up.
& go over all the nuts and bolt you can think of to make sure they are all torqued up correctly (wheel rims.cylinder head and exhaust are the ones that would get my priority. Also adjust any excessively stretched cables. Piaggio dealer prob won't do more than this.
is scoot still covered under warranty ? If no I'd do all the work yourself.
the cylinder bore is probably nicely glazed by now, so I'd just ride the beast , as any intial breaking in was probably completed in the original owners thrashing of the motor .
IMHO
