Hi,
Can anyone give advice on this I have read somewhere you can drill out your air filter 5mm and 7mm in the heart shape part of the air filter. I want to know if this is worth doing along with if so what sort of if any jetting I need to increase. I have a vespa px 200 but its standard I was thinking about the sip exhaust and maybe doing this drilling for the air filter and maybe a bigger jet if require am a novice to all this thank you in advance.
Cheers
Gary

Hi Gary Yes it is worth doing especially if you are going to change the exhaust as well, as far as I know you can buy them already drilled out from sip,and you will then need to increase the main jet.

Hi Ian,
Thanks for your reply I currently have a 116 main jet in as standard would you think a 118 would be ok or bigger? Is there any exhaust you would recommend I have been looking at the sip road 2 race exhaust.

I have a 2008 PX200. It started life with a 116 main jet.
After drilling the air filter and fitting an SIP road 2 it is running a 122 main jet.

Dont forget to wash and rinse your drilled air filter in petrol to get rid of any swarf or other crap that will disrupt your engine.

Thank you guys for your replies and help am guessing its a little bit of trial and see what works best? Grimmripper I have 2006 PX200 I wonder if you can get a selection of main jets rather than buying one at a time as by the looks of things a 122 or 128 main jet seems the way to go. Also guys what sort of speed should I be looking to get when this is done?

So in reply to your questions. 1. You can get a jetting kit eg www.sip-scootershop.com/en/products/jetting+kit+si+sip+performance+_40260200. Start with the biggest jet and it should 4 stroke at full throttle. Work your way back down the jet sizes until you find the biggest jet that runs clean at full throttle. 2. Expect max speed to be about 5 Km/h faster than you are presently. 3. All I replaced was the main jet at the bottom of the stack that pushes in. Cheers MattO
