Well, having turned 40 last month, I decided that I would try to get the smell of 2 stroke back into my life, so in spite of the 'slightly grumpy wife' consequences, I treated myself to a 2004 PX125 that is in a bit of a 'project' state (having disposed of the last 'project', my 2002 MGTF last year). The project state has been made slightly worse by my damaging it on the way home, I will confess that if anyone wants a hand strapping one down in the back of a van, I'm probably not your man, but I'm happy to share what NOT to do...... Slightly worried that I have bitten off more than I can chew, mainly as it's my first geared bike and the first problem to sort out is the tricky gear change (hotly followed by the quantity of rust I discovered on getting it home and taking off the side panels).
I'll be asking all sorts of daft questions as I bring her back to something approaching her former glory, delighted to see that there is such a vibrant community. Give me a few months and I hope to put back in rather than take out!

Thanks for the welcome everyone, I'll grab my wire brush on the weekend and post some pictures of the rust-bucket with the extent of the rot exposed, at which point, I'll be after some bodywork advice....!
