Was having a look yesterday on ebay, for a Rega Rb300 tonearm, to upgrade mine from an R200 on my Rega planer 3. They seem to be going for around £190!
Asked my mate to have a look on facebay or whatever its called, and he came up with a Complete Rega planer 3, with Rb300 tonearm fitted in very good condition, for £200! In his home town, 7miles from me.Just bought it and set it up. Listening to the Doors LA Woman Lp. Loving it!
Funny how your music tastes can change over time. When we were young, my mate would play this and Pink Floyd in his Ford XR3 (not the "I" version) as we drove around. (he was a scooterist at the time and still has 5 scoots today. 😉)
I just tolerated it at the time, but now I listen often...
Listening to this double cd, using the headphone socket on the Audiolab 8200 Cdq, using the Philips Fidelio x2hr headphones and can't believe how good it's sounding. Must be the time of the morning? Electricity supply? Still quiet outside? Weather? Who knows!
Fitted the new stub and end weight to the Rb300 tonearm on the Rega planer 3, yesterday. From a small amount of vinyl listening so far, it seems to have tightened up the bass and brought the mids slightly more clarity.
