Howdy,
My 2003 PX125 stolen in London on 23/9/06 with roughly 17,000km on the odometer. I'm off to buy another one immediately as soon as I get my insurance refund.
In the meantime, any hints where I can calculate the UK book value for my previous ride so I don't get screwed by the insurance, similarly how to judge a good value with used PX125s I'll be looking to buy?
If anyone is selling a PX125 Disk, I'm in the market.
Thanks in advance, Gregor

Hi Gregor, welcome to the forum. Your best bet is to scan the trader pages in Scootering or go to www.scootertrader.com and compare scooters similar to yours that are for sale. When I sold a 2 year old PX125 disc, in excellent condition with about 6000km on the clock, back in 2004, I got £1100 for it in a private deal, which I was quite happy with. Bearing in mind yours was a year older and had quite a bit more mileage, you won't get that much. Then of course, as it's an insurance company that's paying out, you can expect them to knock another couple of hundred quid off the payout, because insurers are cunts and they never, ever, give you what they owe you. They're on my list.

Also, register your scoot with the Vespa Club of Britain - they get enquiries from the police about scooters they've found. www.vespaclubofbritain.co.uk/
