Here's one for any Vespa experts out there...
I'm in the process of fitting a 24/24 carb (from a PX200) to my PX125 Disc. But the original air filter doesn't fit with the new carb. It seems to need a bit grinding out above the heart shaped recess on the bottom?
Am I being a biff or does the 24/24 carb from the PX200 have a different air filter to the 125?
Thanks in advance.

Dear BigScottyJ,
Hi to you - this got me scratching the old bonce!
There are a couple of things - in that heart shaped recess there is sometimes a hole. It sits above the idle jet and helps control slow running. The older the Vespa the more likely it is to have that whole. Piaggio changed it somewhere in the 1990's to make the warranty last I think.
The original P200 main jet is a 118 - on all new Vespas it is a 116.
Now Vepsa use 2 types of carbs on PX's. 1 is the Delorto and one is a Spaco. The Spacos seem to be on bikes from 2000 onwards. I am guseeing but if you have an Airfilter that is from Delorto 24/24 and the Airfilter is from a Spaco PX125 carb you may have problems.
Have a look and see what make your original carb is....
I'll be back
Christian

24mm carbs use a different filter to a 20.
