I know you've said you're not bothered about a backrest or spare wheel carrier, but I think on a PX you can't beat the 3-in-1.
As well as having the regular fold-down rack you can also keep a fair bit strapped onto the saddle behind you. Yes it's a bit of a fiddle when you come to refuel but then so's getting your gloves and helmet off. I've developed a way of strapping a rucksack in the pillion position so when I refuel I only have to undo the bungees on one side, flip the bag out the way, lift the saddle then put the bag back until I've finshed. Also if you're back's getting tired while you're riding you can lean on the bag if it's big enough.
And there's nothing quite like the reassurance of having two spare wheels. Better to have and not need, than need and not have.

Actually, funny you should say that as I was looking at other people's scoots tonight and thinking how it would be useful to be able to strap stuff between the rack and the pillion spot .
Plus some of them looked a lot smarter in the flesh (or metal) than in online pics.
Think that might well be the way to go then. Ta.

Yup - Its definatly worth making use of the 'rear half of the seat' space. At the moment I just have a flip over back rest on, and even just with this its possible to wedge in a nice backpack inbetween that and my back. Also the weight will be more evenly distributed then. Im looking for a 3/4 in 1 rear rack also. Has anyone found one available in black?

The only place I've seen selling black rear racks recently is SIP scooter shop in Germany. They're not 3-in-1s though, they're specially for the Mk1 T5. Lu have you got a photo of yours?

I've still got a short back rest with fold down carrier for sale if you're interested. Not 3 in 1 i know but it's there if you need.

try to even out the load if you can mate - I found myself pulling wheelies very easily because I piled everything onto the back - I suppose in hindsight takingmy wine collection on a rally was a bit over the top.
Cheers

Front carriers can help to balance out the load, but if you put too much weight on them you can experience a disconcerting wobble in your front wheel when you're braking. Also you have to be careful not to obstruct your headlight with too much stuff on a front rack.
