I've been driving around on my provisional for 18 months now and want to take my test before my CBT runs out.
I'm sure most say the same, but I'm a pretty good driver and I just wondered how people have got on with their tests?
I plan to do it on my ET4 which is obv an automatic (I have no intention to switch to gears) - does that make it any easier? My local bike centre offer a day's training with the test at the end, is this enough?
How long have most ridden for before taking the test, is 18 months quite a short period?
Thanks for the help

Personally I'd suggest booking a lesson, the instructor will know if you are ready for the test, so what your local bike centre suggest sounds sensible. Hopefully they will not put you forward for the test unless they feel you are up for it, IIRC it's £60 odd to do the test, so you don't want to be doing it more than once After 18 months I'm sure you will have the confidence and road sense, it's just all the little things the instructors look for which are useful to know and you will pick these up on your training day. Good luck!

Book yourself an hour lesson and take advice from there. Don't be talked into spending loads of money on endless lessons which my school tried to get me to do. Some people only need an hour lesson before they take the test, and some people need more - if you've been riding round for that long, you probably only need tips on minor things or to correct bad habits. Forgot to add, I took mine after 20 months of doing the CBT, with a two hour lesson a couple of weeks before the test, then I just practised on my own. Good luck
