Hello,
I have just put my GTS 250 through its second MOT since I bought it and have received an even stronger advisory than I had at the last MOT concerning the corrosion beneath the bike. I have been looking to see if I can purchase a plate that can be welded on beneath the bike to protect the frame and now exposed battery but have found nothing.
The garage stated that the correded plate (nothing of it left really) was a 'strength' member and not just a protective plate.
What do you guys usually do please?

Rgds Jerry this not common with modern Vespa's ? I would get a plate made and welded in, this is why you see them selling cheap, because of rot.

Thank you.
That was my intention but it seemed strange that I could get no information on it. The chap who did the MOT said that it was a common failing on these bikes which would suggest that I might find more discussion threads about it.
I have found a bike centre that is happy to do the job.
Thank you again.
Rgds Jerry

Sheet of stainless probably would be better than mild.

Just been given the same diagnosis on GTS 250. Panel under battery is corroded through in places. How did they fix the bike in the end and how much did the repair cost and who did you find to do this? Thanks
