When I eventually get going with my rebuild I think I'll fit a fibreglass mudguard. I like the look of the t5 mudguard but I wondered if it is a big job to modify one to fit a disc brake PX.

The big part of this is removing the forks to fit the mudguard. Just match the hole for the hydraulic hose from the disk mudguard onto the T5 mudguard, then cut it out.( Use a cardboard template from your disc mudguard of the 3 bolt holes that hold the mudguard on the forks and the hose hole , if you are not confident . ) Next thing is you have to decide what to do with the bracket, on the side of your forks, that the disk mudguard bolts to, you can either grind or hacksaw this bracket off or leave it and make a plate from it to the new T5 mudguard , then drill a hole in the T5 mudguard and bolt it to the plate. Hope that makes sense, if not come back to us and someone may put photos up. Good luck Mij😉☺

The forks will come out anyway Jim for a refurb. Are the fibreglass mudguards solid enough to do without the bracket. If so it's one less thing to try and line up.

phattanglo, yes, the ones Henri posted are, I have one on my scooter, I kept the bracket on and made a wee plate to the mudguard just to tidy it up for now,but haven't bolted the bracket to the mudguard. I usually cut the bracket, but mine has a brand new complete fork, disc, hubs etc, so can't quite bring myself to cut the bracket yet, lol😉. Let us know how you get on mate. All the best Jim☺. Forgot to add, I use stainless " two pence ish size" washers on the 3 bolts that hold the mudguard to the forks to give more strength, bud 👍
