wheres the best place to get spares for older vespa's i.e my rally, when i bought it it came with new floor runners and rubbers etc but they have no holes in them and no end caps and the rubber inserts looks of a poor standard.
cheers

Spares for older scooters can be tricky to source. You could search ebay; the pros are that you can spend as long as you want browsing for stuff from the comfort of your chair, the cons are that the rarer the stuff's harder to find and more pricey.
You could try ringing round dealers, or go to your nearest if it's an old one like mine, and see what they've got gathering dust in the back. You could go to your local club and see if anyone's got old spares rattling round their garages (you'd be surprised what people don't chuck out, and quite often after you've busted a bollock sourcing something, someone at your club says "Oh you should've said, I've got one of those in me garage!"). Or you could put an ad in the wanted section of the Trader pages in Scootering.
Sorry if this seems a bit scattergun, but I don't personally know of a "best" place to get parts, I'd just root around.

Perry Lewis at www.totallyscooters.com/ should be able to provide you with all the little gubbins you need. He's a lambretta man really but states he can get hold off 99% o old vespa spares. Check his stock out on line. I know he has the footboard end caps for 75p each.

Hmm, (strokes chin). Ferdy did an excellent job sourcing original parts when he restored the Sprint, but I'll bear that in mind should I need anything.
Congratulations on going over the 100 posts btw.

I have had some excellent stuff from all-styles when no-on else could come up with the goods. They're the people I was trying to think of last night, but couldn't remember their name. they always stock a lot of vintage NOS bits don't they.
