I am hoping one of you wise souls will be able to help me sort out my gears. The problem I am having is when i change down through the gears, the gears are really stiff. When I try to change up through the gears they wont go at all without stalling the machine and having to rock it into gear. I have recently put new cables on but am uncertain as to whether this is the problem. Cheers in advance. Gary

I had exactly the same with my LML when it went back on the road this week. A good dollop of grease in the gear-change solved it perfectly. Did you lube up first when changing the cables? Either that or adjust your clutch.

When you say gear change do you mean headset end or engine end? Headset end moves freely and i've adjusted the clutch from the kickstart not engaging to the other extreme and tried it through the adjustment without any difference to the gears.
Thanks for the reply , just going out for another fiddle.

If you've recently changed the gear cables then the odds are that either the inners have stretched.... readjust gear inners, or the outers have kinked in which case you need to change them. try to adjust your inners first as they do tend to stretch a fair bit when new making gear change difficult.

I meant at the gearbox, under the engine where you attached the cables!
