Hello! Please be gentle with me, I'm new here ;D I am hoping to pick up a second hand et2 in the next couple of weeks - would anyone be able to confirm the following for me please: 1) Any idea of a rough average mileage for a 2001 scoot? 2) Any insurance recommendations? 3) Any idea what I should expect to pay for a 2001 scoot with minimal (if any) visible damage - full MOT and average mileage? Much appreciated Emma x

Gently gently!
Dear Emma, What a wise decision you have made! 1) Average mileage for a scoot would be 6,000 miles a year. A four year old one shouldn't have more than 24,000 on it! If it has it should have had an engine overhaul at some point. 2) Carole Nash for insurance or RAC as Lucia recommmends. 4) No more than £700 - £800/ with damge - less. 5) Brand new you can get them for about £1500.00 with a 2 year warranty. 6) If you want any help from a lady phone Helen at Mr Scooter on 01444 414848
Hope this helps.

Hi Emma, welcome to the vespa.org.uk forum. We're always gentle here, in fact I think the worst that's happened to anyone was being ignored for bursting in and shooting his mouth off. The whole idea of the site is to be like a scooter club, so come in, grab a beer, sit down and enjoy the benefit of an entire interweb full of scooter-anorakdom. Not sure which part of the country you're in, but you might want to have a browse of www.scootertrader.com to get an idea of the kinds of mileage and prices you can expect to be paying for a second hand scooter, and maybe see if there's one for sale in your area.
