Thanks in advance ;D Here goes... 2000 P2 disc Will there be a significant difference if i change the standard exhaust for a Sito Plus. And I have a gap of about 20mm between the head set bottom and the top of the fork tube. On my T5 its about 5mm, Is this normal, is it something to do with it being a disc or am i being silly Cheers...Tim

Llew, a sito will give you a bit more performance, more than a simonini, but won't last very long before the inernals start to fall apart so enjoy it while you can. Not sure what you mean about the headset and forktube though, can you post a pic or try to explain better?

With ya now, must admit it's not something I've really taken any notice of before, mines about 10mm but it can only go at one height anyway. As long as your pinch bolt is correctly positioned in the cutaway on the fork tube then that's your height. The T5 Mk1 had a different arrangement so I suppose by adding, or omitting some of the nuts you could higher or lower the headset marginally. If your bolt is in the right place then there's no worries unless it's more aesthetic?

Turn the steering side to side while watching the gap, and see how near headset gets to fork tube. You may be able to slacken off pinch bolt and lower headset slightly. Before worrying about it too much, have a look at a few Vespas, I think you'll find a variety of gaps !! Get yours as close as possible to fork tube, but remember to keep good side to side clearance, and remember also that this may alter on bumpy roads.
