Hi H,
that's interesting to know I didn't realise you could do it on a scoot. what are the speeds required to hit and is there strip long enough to stop a drum braked scoot on the emergency stop test. lol

seems the gig is ,ride down car-park/playground ,round a cone n accelerate to 32mph before a white line an then throw out the anchors .mrs aint to good with estimating distances , some blather about "tennis courts" an bowling alleys ,?, . seems theres vids on youtube . a px should be able to do it with well maintained brakes, mrs said as ya go into turn stay in 3rd an brake going in an nail it coming out . do a practice day an you get as many goes as ya need to suss it .H

Cheers H,
just need the boy to get his finger out now and start saving to pay for it. if doing it on a scoot does that restrict you for 2 years before riding anything bigger?

For those wonderin’; Types of Motorcycle for test:www.gov.uk/motorcycle-test/motorcycles-mopeds-you-can-use
Note:
“There are 4 subcategories of mopeds and motorcycles. In both tests you must use: The same subcategory as the licence you’re applying for A vehicle with the same type of transmission (manual, automatic or semi-automatic)”
(So if you pass on a 125cc you’ll get an 'A1' licence. This is where the problem is with scooters, to ride most scooters you want 'A2', but if you have to use a training centre bike you might as well skip the (395cc) 'A2' and get 'A' (on a 600cc bike for example); it costs no more and the licence is then unrestricted.
It has been made so bleedin’ complicated and expensive. – I had to go to Truro for theory, and Exeter for Mod 1.
Fees (that’s without training and bike hire for test):
www.gov.uk/driving-test-cost
Module 1 (You must have current CBT and Theory test pass):
www.gov.uk/motorcycle-test/module-1-offroad-test
Module 2 (You must have current CBT, Theory and Mod1 test pass):
www.gov.uk/motorcycle-test/module-2-onroad-test
Skip all the heresay, and bull’s ploppies you'll read all over the place; it’s all crystal clear on gov.uk, it’s a feckin’ rip off and they don’t care who knows it!
Hully, there's age restrictions for larger classes; shown in first table. I don't know your son's age, but you'll find the info on gov.uk - our fees have paid for a splendid website! Henri, The Management is doing A1 licence then? for Mod1 and Mod 2, and will be restricted to 125 but can lose plates and carry pillion. How long do you get to do Mod 2? Big general note: 'A1' doesn't make us legal to ride a kitted 125cc.
