I am new to the scooterin game (hence all my questions) I have a Vespa 50 S (79) There seems to be quite a lot play in the front suspension when I apply the front brake. i.e. it seems to compress a lot and the front dips down. Im getting an MOT soon Is this normal for Vespa's or does it suggest a problem with the front suspension??? Cheers

Lol - welcome to the world of crap front suspension. It's entirely normal but hard to get used to after owning a modern PX Disc model, the upside is MOT'ers give you more leeway as they expect it to be crap. You have to break the other way round on these scoots - more back than front. Weirdly I found the rear brake on the PX Disc to be pretty useless but the one on my Rally quite good. Still, with a 50 you could always put your feet down for extra braking.
