Has anybody tried them out yet? I've seen a few on ebay but I'm a bit confused about which colour you are supposed to use. For instance one site says you must use the same colour as your lens. Another mentions red lenses will filter out the red element of a white bulbs colour bandwidth, but white LED's have very little red, more blue. I like the idea of reducing the load on the stator and apparently there is no dimming - bonus

So, how exactly will a red lens filter out the white of a bulb? Absolute b*ll**. I use LEDs on my T5, looks great, good light without dimming and, if one 'bulb' goes out, loads of backup bulbs. This is assuming you are using 'group bulbs'

Yes it does seem like b*ll*cks but like most people I'd rather ask first before forking out for the wrong LED. Unfortunately you don't say what colour LED you are using, I'm presuming white and that they don't make a clear rear light cover yet.
Cheers

here is what i did on my PX I took some electronic board used the original metal tin, with a minor altering, to hold the board used some white leds in a row added a few that point backwards, towards the reflector it works better than the regular bulb, doesnt dim on idle and is more reliable, especially at evenings of course you can buy a ready-to-install led bulb that will fit instead of the bulb you have

Good job Rudi - that answers the quesion for me, white LED's for red lenses. I've just seen a kit available on ebay made by sparkright technologies, that looks the easy way to do it.
Cheers
