OK so there are a few things I would like to query about my '89 pk125
Firstly I believe I have some faulty wiring in my rear indicator and need to take off the spare wheel to get to see round the back of it. How do you get the panel off to get t o the spare wheel, it seems fastened at the top with some sort of hook/hinge at the bottom corners, i'm I being a fool? or is there just something simple I need to know to take it off?
Secondly there is a knob that twists next to the choke, what does it do? It has a letter or something on it but I can't remember what it was.
Finally just a bit of a query about my lighting controls, as far as the headlamp goes I have 2 switches on the right handlebar, and combinations of the 2 operate the light and change it between full beam and dipped, is there a system or logic to the 2 switches, or is it possible my electrics have been done a bit funny?
Any insights would be much appreciated!

The knob sound like the fuel tap lever, either that or it's Chris Ronaldo

Got the panel over the spare wheel off, just decided to man up, gave it a good hard yank and it sort of popped off, did the trick and din't seem to break anything so it'll do me!
Yep the knob does appear to be the fuel tap lever i googled it and it looks exactly like that, doesn't seem to do much though, the scoot starts regardless of the position it is in, am I missing something here?
Still haven;t figured out the logic behind the switch combinations for the headlamp, but not to worry, it all seems to work fine!
Thanks!

The fule lever should shut off the fuel when turned fully to the left when sat on it, straight up is fuel on and fully over to the right is reserve. Turn the fuel off when it is running and stationary and it should cut out after a while. If it doesn't then the tank will have to come out to investigate the connection. The lights are simple enough as long as they haven't been bodged in the past. You could go on scooterhelp.com and look up your model, they should have the owners manual there for you to get an idea of what you've got and how things work. Basically one switch has 3 positions, off - on with small headlight bulb - on with both small and large headlight bulb. The 2 way switch selects between dipped and full beam.

Think it will take a minute or so to cut out as there will still be a bit of fuel left in the carb even when set to off. That right? As I found out much to my embarrassment once when I unknowingly had it set to off and it cut out a 50 metres later in the middle of a busy street

Maybe a minute - you could speed it up by revving it. I like the cutting out in front of a crowd! I've fell off in front of one - it got worse when they tried to help me up and couldn't work out why I wasn't too grateful...

Switching the fuel tap off is also a makeshift security measure. Your average little scrote that doesn't know much about Vespas won't always think about turning the fuel on before trying to nick your scooter. Unless they read this forum of course. Doh.
