Hello everyone, I am new in here and it seems the right place to find the answers to my questions. After 4 years in England, I have garage and I can give shelter to my fully restored PX125 (1986). I am looking to the procedure for importing and registering the vespa with DVLA. The PX125E is registered in Italy as historic vehicle and I would avoid to loose the registration plate and the original documents does anyone know if is possible to retain them? Is it doable? Thank in your in advance to everyone will be able to help. Francis

the scoot can be rode over here for upto a year on its italian plates as a "temporary" import ,so long as its taxed an mot-ed in italy /road legal over there . but will then need registering here .1st a nova declaration has to be made to customs an excise to show theres not vat or import dutys owing .as a personal import from a EU country there wont be .this can be done online or by a form&post .then a english reg number applied for ,this needs a dating cert, mot an a v55 form from dvla an costs £55 . they also like you to have insurance an buy a years tax at same time ,but can declare it SORN an insure/tax later . i'm not sure on your italian reg ,with there rules about vehicles off road for more than 5 years being hard to get back on the road/loosing there reg number .you might have to ride it over an mot/tax it every 5 years to retain your historic status/italian reg . the vespa club britians website explains the dating cert an registering process ,an theres people who carry out the procedure for you for a fee ,rob skipseys one ,he charges £100 ,an might have more knowledge about the italian side of stuff .H
