I'm thinking of selling my stock P200 Mk1 and buying a stock T5 MK1. Are they hard to come buy? How much do you think it'll cost? Cons and pros?

minty mk1 t5's are going for 2 grand nowadays , messed with ones 1400-1500 if ya can find one . on a square tail most important check is rust in the tail section/shock mount .thats what kills most of em ,its a real rust trap . an try an find a un-kitted stock engine , a lot have px engines in by now or have been kitted .ive never seen the point of kitting a t5 , stock they will out-drag a p200 an make almost the same mph, just wont hold top speed aswell or as long . if plannin on touring/rally miles stick with a p200 . red-light banditry n ride outs a t5 is ya one , tuned but with almost the reliability of a px . anothercommon fault is duff tachometers in the speedo, very few made it thru warranty without being replaced ,an then broke again as soon as warranty was up . Thanks Henri, I heard they're a good engine. I really like the look of them too. My stock P2 only does 60mph so I wanted something a little faster, I'm saving for a SIP Road 2 exhaust for it at the moment.

there amazing lumps ,if in good condition an unmessed with . an will out strip a 60mph p200 , but your p2 should be doing better than that , 65-70 easy . definetly with a sip road 2 on it . if ya old exhausts stock i'd suspects its pretty blocked by now . a soak with caustic soda an general service/tune up should help round up those missing "horses" an get ya 65mph again .
