just read an earlier thread about idling screw. Not knowing much about engines , although i am picking bits up, i am learning as i go. Now to get the mixture/idling about right, someone once told me that to start with tighten the air mixture screw right up and then open it a turn and a half, then start from there. Is this about right? Cheers Dave

Yes, if it ticks over nice and smooth at that, leave it at that..

I found it was best to adjust it when the engine is warm. It should idle smoothly but just enough to keep going by itself.
