the gear is relieved like that as its were the kickstart cog engages with ,hard to see from photo's but doesnt look too burred up ,i think i'd use it again . to check ya cush drive take big gear in one hand n grasp tree with other an twist .shouldnt be any clicking or looseness .an inspect the rivetted plates for cracking/elongation of rivet holes or loose rivets .i'd use duraglit or brasso an polish up the selecter rod ,make sure you wash all polish away afters with petrol ,an use petrol n a toothbrush to clean inside shaft were it slides .a smear of gear oil an re-assemble ,make sure its a easy sliding fit .ok. in the video the play is the shaft not being supported in the bottom ball bearing ,turn tree over an spin the bearing .looking for roughness or tight spots ,if any replace it, remove circlip drive bearing out an drive new 1 in .if youve a new bearing in your kit ya might aswell replace it .until the shaft is in ball bearing an has needle rollers at other end it will flop all over the place .if youve any doubt assemble the tree n shaft in its bearings outside the case ,an spin it an wiggle it .looking for roughness/tight spots or play between tree n shaft then . from what i can see tho, your good to go ,H

One of the rivet is missing according to the picture. I'd just punch a new rivet or rebuild it.
